Public Tour Schedule
We welcome the public to visit the Hutcheson Memorial Forest on regularly schedule tours. These tours are led by Rutgers University faculty and researchers who volunteer their time. Depending on the expertise of the tour leader, the interest of the group, and what is flowering, flying, calling or crawling, various aspects of natural history, forest ecology, conservation issues and ecological relationships will be explored and discussed.
Tours typically meet at 2 p.m. and take between one and two hours. All tours leave from the main entrance of the woods located at 2150 Amwell Road (Route 514) about 3/4 mile east of East Millstone, New Jersey. The trail through the woods may be muddy in places except in dry weather, so persons should come prepared. There is no charge. If you have a school or community group that wishes to tour the forest, please reach out to HMF Center Staff well ahead of the proposed date to arrange for such a visit.
We regularly update the tour schedule, so please check back for updates! Looking for opportunities to volunteer? Check our volunteer day schedule here!
