Dec. 11, 2022: HMF Volunteer Day - Aralia elata Removal:
Over recent years an invasive tree, Aralia elata (Japanese angelica tree), has become more prevalent throughout HMF. To reduce the spread of this harmful invasive, join us for a volunteer day on Sunday, December 11th from 8am-4pm at 2150 Amwell Rd. in Somerset. Work will involve cutting back and down small trees found throughout the forest while the HMF staff works to apply herbicide to the stumps to reduce the possibility of regrowth. Please remember to wear long pants, sturdy close toed shoes, bring work gloves if you have them (we have extra if not!), and to dress for cold weather. If inclement weather forces it, the rain date will be December 18th.
If interested, please email HMF Land Manager Chris Crosby at email@example.com.
